The Vermont Department of Corrections is looking for an Interim Recreation Services Coordinator to work at Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury.
As the Rec Services coordinator, you'll:
This interim job is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 8a-4p, with holidays off. You will perform other duties directed by superiors.

Duties are performed primarily within an institutional setting. Incumbents must possess considerable interpersonal human relations skills, including patience, understanding, and humor, to deal effectively with the institution's inmate population and other staff members. Emotional and mental stability is required. Significant interaction with inmates is required.

High School degree/equivalent or higher and one (1) or more years of experience working in physical education, or a recreation program or comparable program/organization.
Associate's degree or higher in physical education, recreation services or a related field.
Experience working in a correctional or similar institution
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
