GSVS Woodbridge is seeking a Veterinary Technician Trainer to join our team and play a key role in advancing the skills of our veterinary technicians and assistants. This position is fully dedicated to training and education, with no direct patient care responsibilities. The focus is on elevating medical standards, fostering collaboration, ensuring patient safety, and supporting the professional growth of our staff.

We are a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, and critical care. Our clients and patients also have access to ophthalmology, oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, dermatology, and radioactive iodine treatment. We are not your typical veterinary hospital! Working under the direction of and in collaboration with the hospital leadership team, the Veterinary Technician Trainer will design and deliver training opportunities that enhance healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to team satisfaction. This role is centered on education and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs and create educational resources, including group sessions, hands-on workshops, and self-paced learning modules.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to implement and support training initiatives.
  • Encourage learning, skill development, and career growth among veterinary technicians and assistants.
  • Assist veterinary assistants pursuing technician credentials by providing guidance and structured training.
  • Assess skill levels and tailor training to individual needs.
  • Support the onboarding process for new team members.

Qualifications

  • Active RVT/CVT required (preference for VTS candidates).
  • At least 5 years of experience as a practicing veterinary technician.
  • Experience in teaching, training, or public speaking preferred.

  • Compensation is competitive and based on experience, education, and credentials.
