We develop and maintain the Central Unit – the very heart of Verisure's monitored smart alarm system. This Linux-based embedded system orchestrates and secures all communication between devices in our customers' homes and businesses, and our backend services.

As we plan the next-generation Central Unit, we are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with solid experience in embedded Linux development. You'll be part of a highly skilled team working across hardware and software domains to ensure connectivity, reliability, and performance in a system that millions of customers depend on.

What you'll be up to:

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux systems, including kernel, Yocto, and device driver development
• Work with communication security and connectivity features across narrowband radio, WLAN, cellular (VoIP, VoLTE), VPN, routing, and secure communication protocols
• Contribute to system integration, performance optimization, and factory/production testing
• Drive improvements in areas such as bootloader, power management, code signing, and FOTA infrastructure
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and connectivity specialists to create a robust, future-proof platform

About you:

We believe you are an experienced and curious embedded engineer with a strong technical background. You thrive in complex environments where reliability and security are critical, and you enjoy working hands-on with the latest technologies in embedded Linux and connectivity. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and have a keen eye for quality and efficiency. You're communicative, collaborative, and eager to contribute to a team where knowledge sharing and innovation matter.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in embedded Linux development (Yocto based)
• Strong understanding of kernel internals and device drivers
• Familiarity with secure communication and connectivity protocols
• Experience with system-level debugging and performance tuning
• Ability to work across hardware/software boundaries and collaborate with diverse teams
• Skilled in C/C++ programming in Linux environments
• Proficient in English, with strong technical communication skills
