Verisign is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the central team in our architecture and infrastructure organization. This role has high visibility and cross-functional responsibilities. Successful applicants must demonstrate superior communications skills, prioritization skills, and diverse technical skills.
In this role, you will work with a small team supporting the vice president of the architecture and infrastructure organization. Responsibilities cover a wide variety of tasks including, oversight/governance of time-sensitive asks, serving as the point-of-contact for cross-team initiatives, producing documentation, and implementing initiatives to level-up our engineers and people leaders.

Responsibilities
- Overseeing that attestations, critical asks, and other corporate objectives are completed in a timely manner
- Being a central contact for the team, answering questions and pointing people in the right direction
- Serving as the point-of-contact for cross-team initiatives
- Producing statistics and reporting for key objectives
- Keeping track of the vulnerability management process and escalating as necessary
- Authoring process documentation and HowTo guides
- Writing annual goals for the broader team
- Implementing training and development objectives to the Architecture and Infrastructure teams
- Coordinating business continuity and disaster recovery objectives for the Architecture and Infrastructure teams
- Working with teams to document mission statements, procedures, and responsibilities
- Managing access to distribution lists, access lists, and chat rooms
- Consolidating and editing status reports for executive level consumption
- Coordinating operating reviews for each area in the Architecture and Infrastructure organization
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering required, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of technology experience in software development, infrastructure, systems, people management, or other related technical areas
- Highly detailed oriented, able to juggle many balls and re-prioritize frequently
- Hands-on technical, willing to process daily work requests
- Strong judgement, must be experienced handling confidential information
- Awesome communications, must be able to interact with all levels of engineers, people managers, and executives
- Able to context-switch and be successful at completing work, even with constant interruptions
- Fungible and adaptable, with a wide background of skills to draw on, able to complete diverse asks, sometimes with minimal direction
- Self-starter, able to progress tasks which have “grey space”, where some details may be unknown
- Avid learner, willing to research/study and capable of picking up new things quickly
Preferred:
- 12+ years of technology experience across many different teams and roles
- Experience working as a team-lead, supervisor, or people manager
- Recognizes and appropriately communicates employee engagement matters to leadership
- Well versed in proofreading and editing presentations, white-papers, and executive communications
- Knowledge of industry best-practices in the architecture, software development, or infrastructure spaces
- Experience teaching, coaching, or developing training materials
- Working knowledge of public and/or private cloud technologies
- Knowledge of software development and automation, able to streamline routine work
This position is based in our Reston, VA and offers a hybrid work schedule.
The pay range is $164,300 - $222,300.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
