We offer:

  • Training period: comprehensive 10-week training period - 8 weeks in the field working side by side with a dedicated trainer & 2 weeks classroom-based training in Loveland, CO.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires daily travel to customer sites, typically within a 2-hour radius of your home office.
  • On average, 50% of weekly travel will include overnight stays. We always prioritize associate safety by booking company-approved hotels, and all travel, lodging, and meals are covered by the company!
  • Occasional travel to other states within the region is expected, with trips lasting up to one week at a time.

About the Role

The Field Service Technician I is responsible for the delivery of high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices located at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants).

This position is part of the North America Field Service Team located in the Charlottesville, VA area and will be remote. Several locations have been listed for marketing purposes but just one position is available.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
  • Promoting a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
  • Submitting prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
  • Following safe work practices according to company policy.
  • Executing administrative activities in support of service visits.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Willingness to travel daily within a 2 hour radius with 50% of weekly travel including overnight stays
  • Associate/technical degree preferred, or combination of education and experience. 3+ years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair - Basic mechanical aptitude is a must
  • You have a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record required

The compensation range for this role is $29.00 - $31.00 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Incentive Pay.
