Provides AI-powered sports cameras and software that automatically record, analyze, and share games without a human camera operator.

Veo Platform Engineer

Veo is a global leader in AI-based sports camera technology. Our innovative, fully automatic camera solution enables sports teams to record matches and training sessions without a camera operator. We're democratizing the world of sports by granting video analysis for teams on all levels—a privilege that used to be only for the few. More than 40,000 clubs in 90+ countries record their games every week.

But what truly sets us apart? Our people. We're a diverse group of innovative thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers who believe in delivering an incredible product—and having fun while doing it.

The Opportunity

Veo processes thousands of hours of sports video daily, powering AI analysis for teams from grassroots to professional levels. The infrastructure you build will directly enable coaches and athletes worldwide to analyze, train, and compete better.

We're building KickOff, our next-generation GitOps platform. You'll join during a pivotal moment: we're actively migrating services to KickOff, establishing new platform patterns and enabling 100+ engineers to ship faster and more reliably. We also maintain separate on-premises Kubernetes clusters running model training and video processing workloads.

This isn't a "keep the lights on" role. You'll shape platform architecture, drive technical decisions, and directly impact engineering velocity across both cloud and on-prem environments.

What You Will Do

You'll join the platform engineering team that owns these areas together. We share ownership, pair on complex work, and rotate responsibilities.

  • Evolve KickOff (our GitOps platform) to improve developer experience.
  • Support service migrations to KickOff, partnering with product teams.
  • Maintain and optimize KickOff on AWS EKS.
  • Manage our on-premises Kubernetes clusters running ML training workloads.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability using LGTM.
  • Debug distributed systems spanning multiple environments.
  • Create documentation and tooling that makes infrastructure approachable

As the platform matures, you'll have opportunities to shape multi-cluster architecture, GPU workload scheduling, disaster recovery strategy, and cloud provider independence.

What You Could Bring

We're looking for someone with 3-5 years running production infrastructure, including:

  • Production Kubernetes: You've operated K8s in production and understand the operational reality, not just tutorials.
  • Platform-as-product mindset: You've built internal tooling that real teams use, gathered feedback, and measured impact on productivity.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Strong Terraform, Crossplane, or similar experience.
  • Observability: You've implemented monitoring and alerting that helps teams operate confidently.
  • Security awareness: You know how to embed security into platform design without slowing teams down.
  • Problem-solving: You debug complex distributed systems and design practical solutions.
  • Collaboration: You work through discussion and feedback, share context effectively.

Nice to have: GitOps tools (Flux, ArgoCD), Cilium, multi-cloud architecture, on-prem K8s experience.

How We Work

You'll join a Copenhagen-based platform team of 5 engineers with shared ownership of KickOff and our on-prem Kubernetes clusters. We work closely together day to day through pairing, code reviews, and a rotating ownership model for operational responsibilities and platform improvements.

You'll collaborate regularly with the Processing Platform team on workload needs, reliability, and developer experience, and you'll use feedback from product and engineering teams to shape platform priorities and improve how teams build and ship on KickOff.

We work pragmatically and iterate quickly. We document decisions, favor simple solutions where possible, and focus on tooling and platform patterns that help teams move faster with confidence.

Our Copenhagen office mirrors our innovative technology – with an indoor ball court, rooftop terrace, and well-equipped gym. We have created a facility that supports connecting disciplines across the business, facilitates creative thinking, and gives the space to engage with colleagues, our global partners, and the entire Veo community.

Values we hold at Veo:

Dare - We take initiative, stay curious, and challenge the status quo in our work.

Own it - We drive impact by identifying opportunities, taking responsibility, and confidently executing.

Level up - We embrace growth, continuously learning and shaping our skills.

Play as a team - We collaborate across a diverse organization, leveraging shared insights for stronger outcomes.

Customer Centric - We deliver value by having close partnerships and a deep understanding of our customers (internally and externally)

We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, even if your experience doesn't completely match every qualification listed. What matters most is your creativity, potential, and ability to contribute meaningfully.
