Locum/Relief Er Client Service Representative

VCA McCormick Ranch Animal Hospital and Emergency Center is seeking an experienced ER Client Service Representative to help cover shifts on a relief/casual basis. Day/Night/Weekend shifts are flexible. McCormick Ranch is a hybrid practice so ER and GP CSR tasks are required.

Why We Need You As the face of VCA, the Client Service Representative sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities. The CSR is the pivot around which the hospital operates and is responsible for:

• Greeting and making friendly eye contact every time our hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgement.
• Offering a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
• Being a compassionate listener.
• Speaking clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.

• Assessing immediately upon arrival each client's rare need, as well as the pet's general condition.
• Determining whether an emergency arrival is a "stat" versus "standard" emergency.
• Responding to non-patient calls or visitors and connecting them to the appropriate team member.
• Confirming all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
• Offering emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.

• Serving as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
