About the Role

We at Vattenfall IT are looking for two Operation Engineers in VMware and Windows who want to work on the development and delivery of IT services, where safe and stable operations are high on the agenda. Your main duties will consist of daily operations, monitoring, and alarm management of infrastructure platforms as well as driving development in your area. As an Operation Engineer, you will have a varied job with broad responsibilities in a delivery that takes care of everything from Windows server, 3rd line support, and system updates. We collaborate with several hardware manufacturers in our environments, which provides a dynamic development together with our suppliers. Another part of your job is to continuously work on lifecycle management. You will also be given the opportunity to participate in various exciting projects locally and internationally, which provides great opportunities for development.

As an Operation Engineer, you will be part of a team but we also see that you have the ability to work independently towards external suppliers as well as colleagues around Sweden and Europe. For you as an individual, there are great opportunities for personal development and influence in the daily delivery.

Your daily tasks:

• Windows Server operations
• Effectively and automate work methods and systems
• Monitoring and alarm management of infrastructure platforms
• Patching and system updates
• 3rd line troubleshooting for infrastructure issues
• Working in projects for new technical solutions
• Lifecycle management and planning of IT infrastructure

Requirements

• Passion for troubleshooting of varied size and complexity
• Understand and embrace high IT security thinking

• Driven, take own initiatives and are self-starting
• Have a structured and methodical working method
• Fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Driving license B

It is meritorious if you have greater competence or certification in one or more areas, e.g.;

• Virtualization platforms
• Data storage and backup
• Linux server
• Network (switching/firewall/routing)
