Core Responsibilities
1. Lead the implementation and integration of advanced network technologies, including installation, configuration, and optimization of new network infrastructure. Conduct pilot tests, assess performance, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
2. Provide expert-level network design, troubleshooting and debugging support to development teams. Collaborate closely with developers to create scalable, secure, and resilient external connectivity solutions.
3. Serve as an escalation point for complex telecom network issues from Support and Technical Services teams. Diagnose failures, identify faulty components, and implement effective resolutions.
4. Continuously monitor network system performance, analyze trends, and proactively address performance bottlenecks. Drive automation initiatives to streamline manual network management tasks and enhance operational efficiency. Maintain comprehensive telecom network documentation.
5. Conduct network capacity planning by tracking key performance metrics, analyzing usage trends, and implementing measures to prevent degradation due to capacity constraints.
6. Mentor and train team members through formal training programs and hands-on guidance. Evaluate and recommend external training vendors to enhance team competencies. Also, ensure full compliance with IT and Information Security policies, aligning network operations with organizational security frameworks and best practices.
7. Contribute to special projects, taking on additional responsibilities as required to support evolving business and technology needs. Plan, design, and deploy data and voice network infrastructure, determining optimal physical and logical configurations to support organizational communication requirements.
8. Install, configure, and maintain ICT data and voice networks, ensuring high availability, security, and performance while balancing budgetary and operational constraints. Develop detailed network diagrams to illustrate physical and logical layouts, ensuring clarity in device placements, connections, and traffic flow.
9. Define and document network architecture, specifying key protocols (e.g., IP, TCP, POP3) and essential services (e.g., email, file transfer, web browsing) for seamless communication across segments.
10. Leverage automation tools and scripting to simplify routine network management tasks, improve system efficiency, and address complex configuration challenges.
11. Proactively manage and resolve network-related incidents, minimizing service disruptions and maintaining high system availability.
12. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement security measures that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
