Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Manager, Clinical Operations to join the Bone Marrow Transplant Inpatient team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!

The BMT program at VGH is the only program of its kind in BC and one of the largest programs in Vancouver Acute. The program supports all Autologous or Allogenic stem cell transplants in BC to treat hematological cancers. The program also includes the largest Apheresis unit in the province. Overall, the program completes over 300 transplantations per year and has a strong culture and history of research and innovation. This role will be one of two program managers for the BMT program, and the main responsibility will be to support the BMT inpatient unit. The two managers work closely and collaboratively to co-manage ancillary areas of the program, and a primary focus placed on patient flow, staffing, leadership support, and programmatic planning.

As a Manager, Clinical Operations with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Be responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership to a frontline clinical patient care department or health program that directly supervises, at a minimum, Nurses at the Level 4 or 5 classification/wage rate.
  • Be responsible for delivering services through multidisciplinary teams in an acute and/or community-based setting.
  • Provide leadership and direction for operations management, planning, implementation and evaluation of services and activities related to utilization and risk management, and quality improvement of the clinical program/department.
  • Play a critical role addressing the ongoing issues/needs of clients and their families and to ensure a smooth transition from the acute care environment to appropriate community health services.
  • Lead an inter-disciplinary team, work as a team player with colleagues and co-workers and in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve excellence in client and family centred care, education and research within a complex multi-site environment that extends to the community.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
