Systems Integration Engineer-IV

V2X is seeking an Electronics Senior Test and Training Engineer to join our Test and Training Team in support of the Integrated Base Defense – Sustainment Support II (IBD-SS II) contract with operations located at Redstone Arsenal, AL.
We are looking for motivated self-starters who will perform maintenance, training, and work closely with military customers. This position desires an individual who has experience performing mechanical, electronics, and IT Networking tasks as well as skills performing installs, de-installs, testing systems and components, and performing Preventive Maintenance actions on a variety of systems belonging to the Elevated Sensors family of systems to include BETSS-C, Cerberus, RDISS, Radar, PTP radio, television and other communications & surveillance equipment components. A strong background in IT networks and Network Security is also desired. Candidates should be able to operate at scale, in an ambiguous environment, and adapt to the customer's dynamic requirements. The role will work collaboratively with cross-functional team members to deliver solutions to our customer. The position interfaces with cross-functional teams within engineering, testing, production, logistics, maintenance, and sustainment.
Primary Duties:
- Required to distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems.
- Performs installation, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for RF communications equipment, electronics equipment, servers, switches, and routers. Small form factor computers and computer interfaces, both IR and Standard optic security cameras, radars, both personnel and vehicle scanners.
- Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data
- Performs sustainment and preventative, electrical and mechanical maintenance on mobile trailer mounted masts and associated payloads
- Performs site surveys to determine type and placement of systems
- Perform Installs and de-installs of systems and their components
- Perform software updates as required
- Assist in technical writing efforts for Field Bulletins, SOP's, and Tech Manual revisions
- Tracks and updates work orders to include the replacement of parts, serial numbers and
- Skilled using hand tools, power tools, and electronics test equipment
- Perform other related
- May on occasion travel to other CONUS or OCONUS locations to assist in unit training and site survey development for IBD-SS
- Assist in testing processes, system analysis, design analysis, and development
- Assist Test Engineering Team with establishing test criteria
- Work in a product sustainment environment on existing designs
- Perform technical writing to update CI documentation and technical manuals or training material
Required Qualifications/Skills
Advanced knowledge and skills in fault analysis, troubleshooting, repair, configuration, and alignment of, radars, power supplies, Command, Control, Computer, Communication, and Intelligence (C4I) systems, PTP RF Transmitters and receivers, utilizing test equipment and technical drawings.
- Advanced understanding of communication protocols and interfaces
- Ability to construct, test, and troubleshoot from engineering drawings cables and transmission lines of various configurations. i.e., COAX, Ethernet, Fiber Optic and Serial Data transmission lines
- Superior understanding and comprehension of engineering processes and workflows
- Read and interpret planning documents, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, drawings, and manuals
- Ability to translate engineering drawings and schematics and apply to troubleshooting and test efforts
- The ability to extract and analyze data and generate/produce reports based on findings
- Interact with all stakeholders and professionally exhibit customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach with customers and peers
- Ability to perform minor mechanical maintenance on generators and mobile trailer mounted masts
- Superior Technical writing skills
- Test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify test and production electrical and electronic units, assemblies, components, parts, equipment, and systems
- Active security clearance
Desired Qualifications/Skills
- Relevant and recent experience supporting DoD Force Protection systems including mobile communications and modular expeditionary systems
- Experience with RAID sensor systems to include Aerostats
- Experience with Quick Reaction Capability systems portfolio, to include FPS, RDISS, IBD-K, PSSG, BETSS-C, Perimeter Security and ground sensors or equivalent systems
- Ability to train operators in the use and maintenance of RAID and BETSS-C systems
- Technical Experience with FLIR and Rapiscan product lines
- Experience utilizing COLTS (or similar such as RCLS) and operating within the GCSS-A environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Import/Export (ITAR/EXIM) compliance experience
- Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong customer service
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail
Education Requirements:
- BA/BS with 8 -12 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree (15 total years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree)
