Research Engineering/ Scientist Associate III (4209)

The purpose of this position is to support the research and management of the Messing Lab.

Responsibilities

- Analyze existing RNA-seq data.

- Perform animal behavior studies, brain microinjections, and histological studies of brain tissue.

- Write and revise manuscripts.

- Provide skilled experimental and reagent support for postdocs and graduate students.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of a master's degree in biochemistry, neurosciences, life sciences or related field with two years of related productive laboratory experience.

- Excellent data management and data analysis skills.

- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

- Experience in cell culture.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in biochemistry, neurosciences, life sciences or related field with two years of related productive laboratory experience.

Salary Range

$60,000

Working Conditions

Environmental Demands:

- Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished)

- May work around chemical fumes

Physical Tasks:

- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

- Use of manual dexterity

- Climbing of stairs

- Climbing of ladders

- Lifting and moving

- Must be in good physical condition and able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.

- Majority of the time spent standing, walking, or climbing on step stools.

Work Shift

- Monday - Friday

- Some weekend, evening or holiday hours as needed by design of experiments.
