Senior System Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Senior System Engineer to join the Production Engineering pillar of a large financial firm in Salt Lake City. In this role, you will support an enterprise-level desktop transformation. This position is critical to the success of the next-gen Cloud Desktop Migration program, with a focus on hands-on end-user support, Windows OS troubleshooting, and cloud desktop configuration. You'll serve as the bridge between users and support teams, helping resolve migration issues and operational challenges in a Citrix-based on-prem environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Intune, cloud configuration management, and windows configuration management.

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Windows desktop engineering and support
• Thorough knowledge of configuring, deploying, supporting and upgrading Microsoft Office applications, Adobe suites, browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
• Incident/outage experience: Strong end-user support background and experience with incident outage resolution, especially in enterprise environments
• Deep understanding of VDI infrastructure and cloud desktop configuration
• Hands-on experience with Intune (cloud) and MECM (on-prem)
• Operational support mindset with focus on OS-level troubleshooting and creating support documentation
• Ability to work directly with users and support teams (L1–L3)
• Experience with Group Policy Objects (GPO) and Windows configuration management
• Familiarity with Citrix-based on-prem environments
• Experience with VDI (Citrix, View, RDS), Virtualization (Hyper V, vSphere)
• Prior involvement in large-scale desktop migration projects
