Your impact as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer will include providing expertise in all levels of design and development in software application development across multiple projects. You must take into consideration the framework needs, security, network intricacies, and scalability. You are expected to serve as the team's subject matter expert in most areas of development. Sr. Principal Software Engineer organizes the efforts of application development including technical project management.

You are great at:

• Acting as the key resource for setting technical directions, defining and deploying solid engineering practices, coaching and mentoring other engineers, and qualifying engineering project plans
• Preparing, reviewing, and approving the solution, integration, physical, security designs of the project
• Interacting with the cross-functional teams
• Providing project estimates
• Preparing, reviewing, and/or approving project software requirements, specifications, and other artifacts (Software Design Document, Entity Relationship Diagram, etc.)
• Leading in the preparation of Technical Architecture Documents
• Identifying risks and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture
• Conducting research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
• Recommending and implementing software upgrades, tools, and techniques
• Coding software programs and applications according to specifications
• Conducting code reviews and ensuring code quality throughout the application life cycle
• Implementing process improvements
• Analyzing data from software analysis tools for the purpose of correcting errors, isolating areas for project improvement
• Generating statistics and preparing reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process
• Troubleshooting cross-component/technology issues in areas of expertise
• Providing support to multiple projects
• Providing production support as needed
• Engaging in project level planning/project management

What you need to succeed:

• 15+ years of relevant experience with expert level professional/technical skills.
• Complete understanding of software development life cycle using various methodologies.
• Expert in implementing (coding and unit testing) detailed design into application functionalities using Java/JEE as the primary development language.
• Expert in JEE Web Services Technologies: e.g., JAXB, Java APIs for XML Messaging.
• Experience in designing of end to end solution by using any of the following object oriented design, SOA, Domain Driven, etc.
• Proficient in distributed and multi-threaded systems on a relational database.
