This position is for a Range Operations Specialist (Title 32), PD D2798000 and is part of the Utah Army National Guard located at Camp Williams UT. Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Rank: Enlisted (Max Grade E7) National Guard Membership is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Pending analysis, you may be required to complete a new 1-year probationary period when moved to this position IAW CNGBI 1400.25 Must have a valid state driver's license. Must be able to obtain NIPR system access. Must be able to complete state vehicle training. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Medical screening will be completed upon selection for hire. Soldiers who accept a technician position may be terminated from the Bonus and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP). Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required. The duties and responsibilities of the job may significantly impact the environment. Minimum Requirements:
Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Do you have 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-0301-07? (Must submit SF 50 to validate response) OR Do you have:
Knowledge of the installation training/maneuver areas, training facilities, ranges, and operations. The knowledge and ability to understand and interpret range safety danger zone diagrams, range elevation charts, firing tables, ricochet and ballistic characteristics and other data necessary to identify and establish hazardous areas and ranges. Ability to accurately assess the overall range situation and develop a mental picture of downrange activities and their relative position for effective coordination. Knowledge of risk assessment and other analytical techniques sufficient to identify potential hazards and to investigate mishaps involving a variety of munitions and test operations. Knowledge of safety and occupational health regulation, standards, policies, and procedures pertaining to range operations. Knowledge of military tactical training, qualification requirements airborne and sling load operations, safety of live fire exercises, airspace usage, to approve and schedule training exercise. Working knowledge of Range Facility Management Support System(RFMSS) and functional areas relating but not limited to scheduling, resolving system conflicts, pulling ad-hock reports, generating facility utilization reports etc.
