Senior Process Engineer
Barr is seeking a senior process engineer with demonstrated consulting experience to join our multi-disciplinary project teams serving manufacturing clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector. The person in this position will play a key role in advancing our pharmaceutical services with new and existing clients by providing process engineering and technical expertise. Your impact - key responsibilities:
- Client development: strengthen relationships with existing pharmaceutical and life sciences clients, identify new opportunities, and support the growth of Barr's pharmaceutical and life science services through strategic engagement and collaboration.
- Project management: develop scopes of work, schedules, and budgets according to client specifications and needs. Plan and manage engineering projects.
- Technical expertise: assist clients with the development of pharmaceutical processes for new products from benchtop scale to commercial scale or assist with the improvement of existing processes.
- Compliance: assist with identification and interpretation of code, regulatory, or quality requirements for pharmaceutical and life science processes. Examples include Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), NFPA, or EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
- Risk management: participate or lead risk assessments, such as process hazard analyses (PHA) and hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), to identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Team development: serve as a mentor and coach for other team members. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. Identify and pursue new project opportunities; contribute to marketing and proposal efforts.
About the opportunity:
- Compensation: anticipated range of $115,000-130,000. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as an exempt (salaried) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Hybrid: a hybrid arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of any of our offices.
- Travel expectation: approximately 5% to 10%. Work may involve short-term, out-of-town assignments either in the field, attending conferences, for client visits, or in another Barr office.
