Part Time Support Service Aide (Teen Center) ~ Uintah High School

Up to 29.5 hours per week, voucher position, no benefits. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.

District Expectations: The Support Service Aide plays a key role in promoting students' well-being, engagement, and accountability. This position oversees the daily operations of the Teen Center and the Restorative Empowerment Center (REC), while supporting positive student behavior, restorative practices, and supervision throughout the campus. In addition, this position assists with the coordination and supervision of In-School Suspension (ISS), including Friday ISS, to help students stay on track academically and restore connections within the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Manage daily Teen Center operations, including student check-in/check-out and front desk supervision;
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all students;
  • Oversee Teen Center amenities (food access, showers, laundry, study rooms, and group spaces;
  • Keep the center organized and stocked with necessary supplies, including hygiene items, snacks, and clothing;
  • Track and distribute food, clothing, and hygiene resources to students in need;
  • Monitor hallways, commons, bathrooms, and community spaces to maintain safety and order;
  • Keep the halls clear and ensure students are attending class on time;
  • Encourage positive hallway behavior through praise, consistency, and relationship-building;
  • Track and report chronically tardy students: monitor and document hall/bathroom pass logs;
  • Support attendance improvements and coordinate with administration and counselors;
  • Supervise lunch areas and assist with parking lot supervision as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with teenagers in an educational or youth-support setting;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflicts and manage challenging behaviors;
  • Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented;
  • Basic computer proficiency (Google Workspace, spreadsheets, data entry);
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods;
  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree, 48 semester hours of college credit or coursework in education, social work, or related fields preferred, and must have passed the Para-Pro Test or be willing to take and pass the Para-Pro Test immediately upon hire.
