Operations Intern

The Operations Intern will support the Service Center Operations department and will gain exposure to equipment management, transportation coordination, and operations planning. Responsibilities include:

• Other duties and projects, as assigned.
• Under supervision, assist in the planning, supervision, and control of available resources associated with the timely, damage-free, and safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts.
• Gain understanding of load planning safety and maintenance.
• Assist in job task assignment according to unloading and loading schedules.
• Gain exposure to work assignment coordination and performance monitoring.
• Provide a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visiting customers.

Requirements:

• Education: Must be pursuing a college degree, required. Supply Chain and Business majors, preferred. Minimum 2.5 GPA, preferred.
• Experience: No prior experience necessary.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, required. Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required.
• Additional Requirements: Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship for employment upon hire, required.
• Competencies: Active Learning, Flexibility and Adaptability, Initiative, Interpersonal Relationships, Managing Multiple Priorities, Problem Solving.

Work Hours: This is a part-time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours will be scheduled to support a 24/7 operation.

Travel Requirements: Minimal (0%-25%)

Compensation: This is an hourly position paid weekly.
