IAM Engineer

One of our higher education clients in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking experienced IAM/Security Engineers to join their team. These individuals will support the migration from Ping Identity to Microsoft Entra ID, help define and implement governance strategies, and contribute to the development of a scalable identity fabric. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in complex environments, enjoy solving architectural challenges, and can work independently.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Support the re-platforming of IAM systems from Ping Identity to Microsoft Entra ID
• Support the setup, configuration, and migration to Entra ID, including MFA and governance features
• Maintain and support current IAM infrastructure during the transition period
• Help reduce duplication and complexity across IAM systems and processes
• Train internal teams on Entra ID best practices and support knowledge transfer

Skills and Requirements:

• Must-haves:
• 5+ years of experience in IAM or Security Engineering roles
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID
• Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, authentication protocols, and access control models
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment
• Experience supporting large-scale identity systems with diverse user populations
• Plusses:
• Experience with migrations into Microsoft Entra ID
• Familiarity with Ping Identity
• Familiarity with higher education identity models and user types
