Job Posting

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. Pay rate is based on experience. Eligible for 10% shift differential due to working the swing shift. Shift details are 3pm to 11:30pm with rotating weekends. Mandatory training schedule is first week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Department is Environmental Services at McKay Dee Hospital.

Essential functions include cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas using department cleaning procedures, using cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards, understanding procedures and properly disposing of infectious waste and trash, handling and cleaning up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards, following all infection prevention practices, and maintaining work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.

Skills include cleaning, using chemicals properly, reading labels, communication, ability to work independently, and working safely.

Qualifications include demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions, ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department, and demonstrated professional housekeeping experience.

Physical requirements include ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs, frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment, and will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.

Location is Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital, work city is Ogden, work state is Utah, and scheduled weekly hours are 40. The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $17.25 - $22.43.
