Electrical Engineer
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer supporting the Training Division (AFLCMC/WNR) at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. The WNR Division serves as the Air Force's technical, acquisition, and sustainment authority, delivering comprehensive and mission-critical support to the warfighter. The division oversees a wide range of Air Force systems including Electronic Warfare, Range Systems, Air Combat Training, Command and Control Systems, Advanced Radar Threat Systems, and Combat Survivor Evader Locator systems. WNR also supports depot-level sustainment and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs for the U.S. Air Force and partner organizations including the U.S. Army, Navy, PACAF, ACC, AFMC, and AETC. This role provides electrical engineering and systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle under an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure, ensuring Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSSandE) is incorporated into all activities.
Responsibilities In this Advisory and Assistance Services (AandAS) role, the Electrical Engineer provides expert-level engineering support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The position supports government leadership with system design evaluation, lifecycle engineering analysis, test and evaluation planning, and technical risk management in compliance with DoD acquisition processes. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Systems Engineering and Lifecycle Support
- Conduct systems engineering reviews and analyses across all lifecycle phases including concept development, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, and operations and support
- Translate DoD user requirements into system requirements to guide design, development, fabrication, and evaluation efforts
- Review system design baselines to assess architecture and interoperability requirements
- Support development of system specifications and architecture documentation
- Analyze engineering change proposals, specifications, and vendor submissions and provide recommendations to the Government
- Electrical Engineering and Technical Analysis
- Apply electrical engineering principles to system design, validation, and performance assessment
- Conduct lifecycle cost evaluations of systems and components
- Support risk tracking, issue resolution, and technical working groups
- Contribute to technical planning documentation and alternative solution evaluations
- Test and Evaluation (TandE)
- Support Assist with TandE planning, execution, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with operational requirements
- Evaluate availability and capability of DoD and civilian test resources
- Coordinate scheduling and utilization of required test assets
- Design, document, and support execution of certification and compliance activities
- Program and FMS Support
- Provide engineering support for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) efforts as required
