Nonprofit educational youth organization seeks an Educational Support Assistant. Conduct academic screenings or informal assessments to identify students' strengths and support needs; refer students to appropriate community support services.
Job Description:
1. Conduct academic screenings or informal assessments to identify students' strengths and support needs.
2. Observe and interact with students to evaluate engagement, behavior, and overall well-being.
3. Collaborate with counselors to develop individualized support or academic improvement plans for students.
4. Prepare written information summarizing observations, participation, and progress of LIA students.
5. Maintain organized records of program participation, support activities, and student progress notes.
6. Assist students in accessing tutoring, counseling, or other educational and wellness resources.
7. Conduct intake interviews with students to gather background information and set goals.
8. Refer students to appropriate community support services.
9. Coordinate with teachers, counselors, or other professionals to assess student needs and plan interventions.
10. Teach students practical skills such as time management, communication, or study strategies.
11. Demonstrate use of educational tools, digital platforms, or materials during group or tutoring sessions.
12. Support students with organizing schedules, completing forms, and managing academic responsibilities.
Requirements:
U.S. Bachelors degree in Human Services Administration & Education, U.S. Bachelor's in Human Services, U.S. Bachelor's in Education or related degree plus Three (3) months of experience in the job duties or related duties.
