Controls Engineer

As a Controls Engineer, you will execute automation commissioning and validation protocols, troubleshoot and remediate commissioning and validation non-conformances, and work collaboratively with internal engineers and clients to deliver advanced control systems that enhance efficiency, product quality, and profitability in process manufacturing. You will define and implement programmable logic controller (PLC) configurations, and conduct testing and on-site commissioning and qualification of control systems.

Responsibilities:

• Execute automation commissioning and validation protocols.
• Troubleshoot and remediate commissioning and validation non-conformances.
• Collaborate with internal engineers and clients to provide state-of-the-art control systems.
• Define and implement PLC configurations.
• Conduct testing and on-site commissioning and qualification of control systems.

Essential Skills:

• Strong electrical and troubleshooting skills.
• Mechanical assembly and aptitude.
• Expertise in electrical systems.
• Ability to conduct safety analysis and documentation.
• Experience with commissioning processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Engineering degree in mechanical, systems, automation, or electrical.
• On-site building experience.
• Flexible schedule availability.
• Adaptable and enthusiastic learner.

Work Environment:

This role is based on a Data Center Project in Eagle Mountain, Utah, located 25 minutes outside Salt Lake City. Housing is provided for the duration of the project. The position starts in the last week of March, with orientation, and officially begins on April 1st. The role requires working 60 hours a week from April through the end of December, with set hours from 7 AM to 5 PM, including an hour lunch break. Standard PPE requirements include a hard hat with chin strap, safety vest, gloves, glasses, and steel toe/composite boots above the ankle.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salt Lake City, UT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $42.00/hr.
