Our SDG team in Salt Lake is eagerly looking for an Associate Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. You will join the Quality Engineering team, reporting directly to our Missiles Site Quality Manager and be tasked with applying knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and procedures to provide direction and support related to defense products and contracts.

This is an on-site, collaborative working environment that offers a 9/80 schedule to include every other Friday off! (Typical schedule is M-Th, 7am-4pm, every other F 7am-3pm)

As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will add incredible value to the team by holding responsibility for:

• Providing technical support to customers, suppliers and government agencies to guarantee compliance to contract requirements.
• Aiding in the creation and evaluation of cost-effective inspection planning.
• Aiding in the analysis of contractual requirements and creation of program plans, procedures, Quality Codes, etc.
• Auditing and reporting to management on the status and progress of quality programs and initiatives.
• Providing technical support in determining cause of chronic manufacturing/quality problems.
• Supporting failure analysis, DOEs, SPC and other methods to improve processes.
• Participating in the review and evaluation of suspect material.
• Providing technical support for inspection personnel and other interfacing departments.
• Administering procedures and providing for the training of inspection and operations personnel in new methods, processes and products.
• Creating quality trend reports and suggesting improved methods of operation.
• Supporting the implementation of department procedures and policies.
• Supporting Quality management in special assignments.

To be considered for this Associate Quality Engineer role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

• Typically, a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering/analytical/scientific field is preferred and 0-4 years of experience.
• Previous experience working in a Quality-related environment is desired.
• Experience with blueprint interpretation and manufacturing methods is preferred.
• Experience with lean and/or Six Sigma is desired but not required.
• Ideally possesses a working knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, test, and procurement processes.
• Ability to follow through on assignments with limited supervision.
• Candidates local to Salt Lake City Utah area preferred.
