Under general supervision of the Animal Facility Manager, provides maintenance services in support of the Animal Shelter; to help vaccinate, feed and care for shelter animals; and to perform minor repair, maintenance and janitorial work on shelter grounds.

Education: High School graduation or equivalent. Experience: Some experience in the handling of animals or, any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of: Working knowledge of the various breeds of dogs, cats and other domestic animals. Knowledge of basic techniques in animal control. Skills and Abilities to: Skilled in restraining animals and giving vaccinations. Ability to learn, interpret and apply laws and regulations of the County related to animal control. Ability to perform a variety of animal control activities. Ability to learn and utilize proper handling and muzzling techniques. Ability to administer animal vaccinations. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Must have a valid Utah Driver's License and a good driving record. May be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned. Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.
