Fleet Technician
To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $22 and $27/hour. As applicable, this role will also receive overtime compensation.

Schedule: generally Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, hours can vary. Night options available.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
- Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
- Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.
- Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.
- Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Work Environment
- Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
- Ability to work flexible schedule.
- Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
- Must furnish own personal hand tools.
- Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification
- Experience with Maximo fleet maintenance system
- Previous mechanical and PM program experience
- Experience using fleet maintenance software
- Welding ability
