At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the design, build and test of lunar vehicles supporting NASA's Human Landing System.

The Thermal Systems Engineer II position will work in collaboration with engineers from across the vehicle design team to coordinate and integrate thermal hardware and analysis products into the overall vehicle design. This position will be responsible for driving alignment and synchronization with interfacing vehicle subsystems by owning several subsystem artifacts and interface control documents (ICDs). The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate and organize work across subsystem teams while using their engineering background to develop solutions to a variety of engineering problems.

  • Documenting and automating processes for updating interface control data across subsystems
  • Reviewing system level CONOPS information and distilling into useable datasets for consumption by the thermal analysis team
  • Collecting and documenting hardware temperature limits for hardware across the vehicle

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable disciplines
  • Demonstrated understanding of aerospace design, development and verification processes
  • Understanding of spacecraft thermal design concepts and thermal control techniques
