Overview:
Will serve as the expert in either mechanical/electrical engineering requirements for the testing department. Will have in-depth knowledge of engineering and rail car design to ensure that the employees are adequately trained on their duties and responsibilities within the testing department and that all testing equipment is calibrated and adequate for the job. In some cases will be required to travel with the finished product to the end destination.
Functional Description:
Capture manufacturability issues with the design, submit design change proposals, and implement the change into the product
BOM explosions, implosions, and station routings and use of system to see what we manufacture and what we buy
Demonstrates the ability to plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise work of testing and employees while documenting and writing comprehensive reports
Reporting routinely the progress of the testing according to the plan.
Troubleshooting any errors and streamlining the testing procedures
Be able to support the needs of production staff
Read and understand schematics, blueprints and 3 Dimensional drawings
In excel, be able to import data, look up tables, create pivot tables, simple macros, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Training/Education Required:
BS in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering
3+ years of experience in a related field or similar

Qualifications/Requirements:
Ability to work in a high pressure environments
Ability to work with all @types of personalities and gain productions trust
Experience in final assembly and vehicle systems testing
Manufacturing bills of material experience
ERP or MRP experience (Baan)
Experience in an ISO certified environment is a plus
Bilingual (Spanish) is a strongly desirable
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Safety Requirements:
Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident
Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to their supervisor
Shall comply with all client safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures
Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is communicated and supplied to them
Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times
Shall attend all client required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work
Shall NOT operate any client equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so
