A leading biotechnology company is seeking a System Engineer. The successful candidate will design and execute experiments on our sequencing platform and will help develop and analyze microfluidic device surfaces, interfaces, and processes.
System Engineer Responsibilities:
Accurately and consistently execute and record experimental method, materials, and results. Become an expert on the operation of the High Throughput Sequencing Platform. Design, implement, and analyze sequencing results of various microfluidic device process changes and various operating parameters. Debug instrumentation, device, and software issues to create a robust platform.
System Engineer Qualifications:
1-5 years of applicable industry experience. 2+ years of experience is preferred. B.S. in bioengineering, electrical or mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, statistics, or a related discipline with a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or surface/materials science. Meticulous attention to detail and excellent written and electronic record-keeping skills. Excellent troubleshooting (experimental, instrument, device, software, reagents) and problem-solving skills, along with experimental design experience. Experience with statistical data analysis using JMP or Python is preferred. Python programming experience is preferred. A background in or experience with DNA manipulation techniques, sequencing methodologies, or other wet laboratory instrumentation is preferred.
