Automation Test Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join our Agile Scrum teams and accelerate our test automation efforts for world-class distributed cloud software powering industry-leading DNA sequencing and laboratory information systems. This role focuses on building robust automation frameworks, executing API/UI tests, and ensuring high-quality software delivery through continuous integration and deployment practices.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams to design, implement, and test automation for distributed cloud applications.

Develop and continuously improve test automation frameworks; research and introduce new tools and methodologies.

Create and execute automated API and UI tests to enable continuous delivery.

Maintain and enhance web applications and microservices built on TypeScript / C# / .NET.

Evaluate and propose improvements for automation architecture, design, and implementation.

Participate in leadership discussions to promote "shift-left" testing strategies.

Advocate for clean code principles, loose coupling, and clean architecture.

Engage in collaborative practices such as joint design sessions, pair programming, and code reviews.

Develop sustainable automated deployment and build processes.

Apply software engineering principles including Agile methodologies, Scrum, and continuous integration.

Technical Environment:

Languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Java (experience translates well), Bash

Frameworks: Angular Electron (preferred), Selenium (acceptable)

API Testing: OpenSpec API, REST

Tech Stack: Angular Electron front-end, .NET microservices

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in automation frameworks and coding.

Strong backend focus with C# experience.

Proficiency in API test development and automation.

Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes.

Adaptability and ability to learn complex systems quickly.
