Seneca Foods in Fairport NY is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our experienced Information Technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day support of our overall network infrastructure and network cybersecurity.

- Play a leadership role as a senior IT professional. Take initiative to work collaboratively. Establishes positive working relationships across the organization.
- Responsible for Day to Day Management of overall network operations.
- WAN, LAN, WLAN, Internet, Phone Circuits.
- Design, configure, and deploy firewalls, wired/wireless network solutions, and VOIP.
- Work with 3rd Party SDWAN vendor for WAN design, install, and support.
- Upgrade and maintain firewalls, switches, and access points.
- Responsible for network security, network infrastructure patching, and network cyber security.
- Monitor and optimize network performance using management tools.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and communication problems.
- Manage and resolve support tickets for technical issues and escalate issues to 3rd Party engineering or Vendor support.
- Work with Onsite System Administrators to resolve remote issues and to install upgrades at Data centers, Manufacturing plants, warehouses, and offices.
- Contribute to upgrade projects, maintain technical documentation, and plan continuous process improvement.
- Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 networking, routing, and switching.
- Familiarity with enterprise LAN/WAN environments and network automation.
- Strong understanding of Firewalls.
- Experience preferred in: Aruba Networking, Palo Alto Firewalls, Avaya VOIP, Versa SDWAN.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience:
- Associate or Bachelors in Computer Science preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 6-10 years of relevant experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with network electronics, including optical networking concepts, routers, switches, etc. required.
- Familiarity with Ethernet concepts and network routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP required.
- Familiarity with structured cable plant components and techniques for both fiber and copper required.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required.
