IDR is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Englewood, Colorado. This role involves supporting cutting-edge military aircraft systems within a new aircraft design program, focusing on advanced aerospace components and structures. The company is a leader in the aerospace and defense industry, dedicated to innovation and technological excellence.

Position Overview for the Sr. Mechanical Engineer:

Lead the mechanical design and development of next-generation military aircraft systems and structures within a new aircraft design program

Drive the conceptualization, development, and refinement of advanced aerospace components to optimize performance, safety, and efficiency

Collaborate cross-functionally with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials, and manufacturing teams from concept through production

Research, design, analyze, test, certify, and deploy cutting-edge products and technologies in support of the UJTS program

Support the full product lifecycle, including development of complex aerodynamic components, integrated systems, and continuous product improvement

Requirements for the Sr. Mechanical Engineer:

Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

Familiarity with engineering simulation tools, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and thermal analysis

Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry

Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model-based definition, material selection, and manufacturing processes

Proven ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary design and development teams
