In this role, you will be responsible for providing substation engineering for mid to large-scale substation projects. Your expertise in supporting EPC construction projects will be advantageous, and a clear understanding of using AutoCAD and Microstation is essential. You will be tasked with working on voltages higher than 138kV when designing projects. This position requires support across multiple client projects, including one major client based in Arizona, and involves both existing substations and new builds, covering both brownfield and greenfield projects.
Provide engineering expertise for mid to large-scale substation projects.
Utilize AutoCAD and Microstation for project designs involving voltages higher than 138kV.
Support multiple client projects, including a major client in Arizona.
Work on both existing substations and new builds, including brownfield and greenfield projects.
At least 3 years of electrical engineering experience in relevant industries.
At least 3 years of experience supporting medium to high voltage electrical systems of 138kV and above.
Physical or protection and control engineering experience is ideal but not required.
Experience with 765kV projects and a background in construction is advantageous.
PE License is a plus, or willingness to obtain within 6-12 months of employment.
Experience in industrial or oil & gas sectors with high-voltage substations is transferable.
Understanding of switchgear and relay systems.
The work environment includes standard office hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. High performers may have the flexibility to work from home. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
