The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-caliber Software Engineering Manager to lead our Core Services Engineering team. This team is the engine of our marketplace-designing, building, and operating the mission-critical backend APIs and shared services that power our web, mobile, and customer experience applications.
In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of software and quality engineers. You will be a hands-on technical mentor who champions architectural excellence, scalability, and operational rigor. What You'll Bring
Backend Expertise: Deep fluency in modern Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
Cloud Proficiency: Proven experience building and deploying scalable services on AWS (RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS).
Scalability Mindset: Experience managing high-volume, transactional data stores (MySQL, Snowflake, or similar).
Leadership Track Record: Experience leading Agile teams, conducting code reviews, and proposing architectural solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Observability Focus: Strong background in monitoring and alerting (Logging, Metrics, Tracing) to ensure 24/7 system reliability.
Communication: Ability to translate complex technical challenges into business impact for non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Do
Lead & Mentor: Manage and develop a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, focusing on career growth, technical excellence, and a "how-results-are-achieved" culture.
Architecture & Design: Guide the design and implementation of high-volume, transactional backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
Operational Excellence: Own the reliability of core platform services. Drive observability practices (Datadog/APM), define SLAs/SLOs, and lead incident response.
Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to define the roadmap for revenue-critical services like order management and payment processing.
Drive Innovation: Actively leverage emerging technologies, including AI tools, to optimize workflows and enhance system performance.
