Software Engineering Intern

Kimley-Horn is looking for software engineering students to join our Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of existing and emerging software products in Kimley-Horn's portfolio.
  • Work with team members and business partners to understand and design project requirements and enhancements based on business and user needs.
  • Develop applications and creative solutions based on project requirements.
  • Apply bug fixes and enhancements to existing solutions.
  • Implement and support applications post deployment.
  • Quickly evaluate bugs, and apply fixes to resolve issues.
  • Understand and apply best practices; remain knowledgeable of trends in the software development industry.

Qualifications

  • In the process of obtaining an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelor or Masters) in these majors:
    • Software Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Systems Engineering
    • or related field of study
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • Web development experience building complex applications with HTML5 & JavaScript framework, WPF Applications, or C# Services
    • Experience with two of the following: ASP.NET, HTML5/CSS, MEAN stack, REST web services, C#/.NET, WPF
    • Experience with AngularJS, TypeScript, and JavaScript/jQuery
