Software Engineer

This position is for a Software Engineer on the Enterprise Services team. The candidate will be responsible for software development using Java and related technologies. They will perform in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. The role involves designing, coding, maintaining, debugging, and configuring enterprise software applications and products. The candidate will work from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications and assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs. They will also interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system, as well as design, code, test, and implement tools for operations automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software using Java, J2EE, and JavaFX.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and provide technical support for systems software products.
  • Design, code, maintain, debug, and configure enterprise software applications.
  • Develop or modify operating system applications based on specifications.
  • Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs.
  • Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems and set standards.
  • Design, code, test, and implement tools for operations automation.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Java, J2EE, JavaFX, and Linux.
  • Experience with Atlassian toolsuite including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Familiarity with Maven/Gradle & Eclipse.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment.
  • Active security clearance and Sec+ certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Full stack development experience.
  • Experience with command and control system application development.
  • Automated test and pipeline development experience.
  • Test-driven development experience.
  • Experience developing software for Windows platforms.
  • Experience with software integration testing and automated test scripts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues and develop solutions.
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify/SonarQube mitigation.
  • Knowledge of server-side/database development and computer system administration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment

The work is 100% onsite

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
