Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

At STERIS, we help our customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe. Position Summary The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for leading the strategy, development and implementation of marketing communications initiatives in support of the global sales team. This role will include managing a variety of marketing communications efforts including literature development, digital marketing, videos, advertising and tradeshows. You'll be responsible for creating compelling communications programs for product launches and ongoing campaigns that support strategic business initiatives. Strong business and creative writing skills are essential for this position. Additionally, the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist will contribute to the continuous improvement of Marcom processes. This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days in-office out of our Mentor, OH HQ.

What You'll Do as a Senior Marketing Communications Specialist:

  • Works closely with cross functional teams, external vendors and STERIS counterparts to drive successful marketing communications projects, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Acts as strategic partner to Product Management and STERIS counterparts, providing guidance and critical review on content / collateral development as well as setting project priority to ensure the team executes against necessary timelines.
  • Tracks and reports on key performance metrics and adjusts strategies as needed to achieve marketing goals.
  • Integrates and applies sales and marketing strategies to drive business growth, leveraging a deep understanding of market dynamics.
  • Provides innovative creative direction and strategic communications ideas for webpage development, social media, SEO, and paid search, enhancing user experience and engagement.
  • Stays ahead of current industry market trends and opportunities, measuring the effectiveness of current programs and recommending actionable insights to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborates with designers and cross-functional teams to develop visually appealing marketing materials, including digital (banners, thumbnails), visual, photography, video development, and special projects.
  • Maintains strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging and branding across digital channels, maintaining a cohesive brand identity.
  • Domestic travel up to 10%

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:

Required:

  • BA or BS in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years marketing communications experience
  • Minimum 5 years copywriting experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading marketing communications projects in support of commercial strategy
  • Demonstrated business and creative writing proficiency

Preferred:

  • 7+ years of marketing communications experience
  • Experience with B2B marketing
  • Experience within the medical device industry
  • Quick learner that is comfortable with learning new software and platforms
  • Adept at managing high volume, complexity, fluidity & ambiguity while maintaining professional poise and delivering on commitments
