Sales Representative

The Sales Representative will be responsible for providing exceptional service to consumables customers from inquiry to order delivery. The main objective is to reactivate former clients and bring lost customers back to regular buying patterns through outbound calls, emails, and cold calls. This role involves handling over 4,000 products, requiring a customer-oriented mindset and a focus on organizational expansion.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries promptly and accurately.
• Perform inventory lookup and manage quote/order processing.
• Handle material pricing and logistics.
• Maintain accurate customer information and transaction documentation.
• Reactivate lost customers and reestablish regular buying patterns.
• Make outbound calls and send emails to former clients.
• Provide excellent customer service and build strong customer relations.

Essential Skills

• Sales and customer service experience.
• Inside sales or telesales experience, including cold calling.
• Strong verbal communication and customer relations skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Basic PC/keyboard skills.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and routine administrative paperwork.
• Capability to maintain quality and safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with inventory lookup, quote/order processing, and material pricing.
• Ability to maintain regular contact and update databases.
• Knowledge of postal/commercial shipping methods preferred.
• Calm under pressure and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Good judgment and rational decision-making skills.

Work Environment

The position is based in an office and warehouse facility located in New Britain, CT. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The environment boasts a supportive team culture and provides the opportunity to work with a leading consumables provider handling over 4,000 products. If converted to full-time, there are bonus and commission options available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
