The Sales Representative / DOT Compliance Agent is responsible for generating new business by assisting commercial drivers and transportation companies with Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance requirements. This role combines consultative sales, customer service, and administrative accuracy to ensure clients are properly registered and remain compliant with federal and state regulations.
Sales & Client Engagement
Proactively contact prospective clients via outbound calls and follow-up inquiries
Educate clients on DOT compliance requirements and available services
Present and recommend appropriate compliance solutions based on client needs
Accurately close sales and meet or exceed individual performance goals
DOT Compliance Support
Assist clients with DOT registrations, filings, and compliance documentation
Review applications for accuracy and completeness prior to submission
Ensure timely processing of DOT-related requests and renewals
Maintain accurate client records in CRM systems
Customer Service & Communication
Provide professional, clear, and responsive communication with clients
Maintain consistent follow-up to ensure client satisfaction and compliance completion
Address client questions or concerns regarding DOT processes and requirements
Administrative & System Responsibilities
Update and maintain client data in internal systems (CRM, compliance platforms)
Adhere to company procedures and compliance standards
Coordinate with management and administrative teams as needed
Strong sales, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Comfortable using computers, CRM systems, and office software
Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
Prior sales or customer service experience preferred (DOT or compliance experience a plus)
