The New Mexico VA Health Care System is looking for a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Service Team. Responsibilities include providing competent, evidence-based outpatient care to patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. Duties include patient transition through the continuum of patient care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. The nurse will demonstrate the ability to cope with and manage competing priorities. Demonstrates competence in outpatient practice and decision making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications include English Language Proficiency, Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency, and current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
