As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing new products and sustaining existing production contracts. This challenging position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience in developing and sustaining products. You will be responsible for ensuring our maritime products deliver cutting edge performance, continuously improving our design, analysis and project planning processes and capabilities. Specific Job Duties shall include but not be limited to:
Cross functional
Working across engineering departments to deliver on project goals
Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Risk management, Change Management, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Work with the quality team to implement and oversee software and electronics related testing for product quality control
Work with senior management to develop technology road maps, project plans and strategies
Requirements and Education:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher in software engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience designing, building and testing robotic systems
4+ years experience in engineering, within the aerospace/defense, automotive, or medical device fields
Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Risk management, Change Management, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Proficient with Microsoft suite
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
MS or higher in related field
Exposure to ISO 9001/AS 9100 quality systems.
Experience with high mix low volume manufacturing and suppliers
Experience with electromechanical hardware
Experience with Python / Matlab and experimental data collection
