Principal Analog Electrical Engineer

The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) team is hiring a Principal Analog Electrical Engineer to perform duties at a work center with an emphasis on communications products. The primary work product is the complete analog design of a power systems and/or motor control from inception through layout and assembly. Responsibilities include the ability to follow hardware design requirements, observe design checklists, adhere to accepted processes, prepare design documentation and work within a team environment.

What You Will Do

  • Design both power systems and motor control designs from inception through layout and assembly
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure requirements are met at every level of design
  • Collaborate with ECAD designers to generate full Databases and Drawings to build PWB/CCAs
  • Perform System Power Analysis
  • Perform Design Verification and Troubleshooting
  • Produce and present Design Documentation

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Ability to take a design concept from requirements through final product
  • Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design process and expertise in full suite of design tools
  • Proficient in Design Verification/Analysis - Timing/Power/Signal Integrity analysis, bench-level testing, troubleshooting, and test results analysis
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer developing power supplies and motor control CCAs
  • Broad based hardware engineering background with emphasis on complex electromechanical based products
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Proficient with EE Design Tools: MATLAB, SIMULINK, Keysight ADS, and Mentor Graphics
  • Understanding of IPC Standards for PCB Design and Fabrication
  • Understanding of IEEE, MIL standards
  • Ability to take a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and develop a complete hardware design and verifying via test and integration
  • Experience with analog and mixed-signal circuits
