Ensures the installation mail program operates in accordance with all applicable DoD and U.S. Postal Service (USPS) regulations, directives, instructions, and manuals. Monitors mail center safety and security; mail management policy; mail center operations; mail management reporting; mail training and certification; financial management and budgeting; and relevant property management. Oversees the proper use of classes of outgoing accountable mail and delivery requirements of the material being shipped at the most economical cost to the government, adhering to official regulations, policies and procedures. Conducts inspections, performs studies, analyzes data, recommends program improvements, sets employee and operational performance standards, writes security plans, and collaborates with DLA and tenant organizations. Operates automated equipment to include a computer and postage metering machine.
