Patient Service Specialist

Looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and focused individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as, excels in time management, multi-tasking, and a faster paced environment.

Location: 5151 N Broadway St Suite 108 Chicago, IL 60640

Position Type: Part Time

Schedule: Monday and Wednesday - 3:30pm-7pm

Compensation: Hourly Rate - $17.00 - $19.00/hour based on experience

When patients enter our outpatient physical therapy center, we want them to have an exceptional experience - starting at the front desk. That's where you come in. As a patient service specialist, you'll manage both the patient side and business side of our center. Don't underestimate the impact you can make on every patient's care experience, even before they leave the waiting room.

Responsibilities

Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out

Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone

Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

Regular communication with parties such as therapists, insurance companies, attorney offices, translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Qualifications:

1 Year of Front Desk Experience

Interest/Experience in Physical Therapy

Physical Requirements:

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and patients

Ability to multi-task phone, computer, and in-person interactions

Ability to use computer scheduling software (with appropriate training)

Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written direction

Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions

Appropriate manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10-key) and mouse use throughout a work day/shift

Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a work day/shift

Ability to lift up to 25lbs, safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics

Ability to carry office supplies up to 10lbs
