Teaches YSU 1500: Success Seminar. Provides a range of direct student support services including instruction, programs, mentoring, intervention, and personal support to a caseload of first-year students each year in both the fall and spring semesters. Excellent interpersonal skills and a student-first attitude; ability to work independently, collaboratively, and cooperatively as a team member; strong attention to detail; strong time management skills that ensure the ability to manage a caseload of advisees.
Position Information
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Minimum Qualifications: At least a Master's degree from an accredited college or university, or currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in any field and one year of experience in a student services role on a college or university campus; or at least an earned bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience as an academic advisor, academic support professional, or related activity in lieu of the master's degree.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs or related field; experience working with programs focused on developing grit, growth mindset, mental resilience, or other persistence-based interventions; direct experience with students in transition; experience using Banner Student Information System; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; ability to use different avenues of communication. Experience teaching at the college level.
