Assist engineering in the development of project scope for quotation proposals, such as defining and obtaining pricing of equipment within area of expertise, preparation of equipment arrangement, brainstorming of design concepts, preparing vendor specifications. Assure the project Scope of Work is clearly defined and monitor adherence to applicable customer specifications and company standards. Provide flow analysis using Solid Works Flow and understanding of both Newtonian and Non-Newtonian fluid properties as well as gas balancing. Provide thermal analysis to determine mechanical loads, design shapes, and insulation requirements of oil heated platens, skid units, heated or cooled process rolls. Understand process piping, calculating the flow coefficient/coefficient of variation (CV), selection of valving, tanks, heat exchangers for tank systems. Execute safety relief calculations through knowledge of B31.3. Read PID drawings and support process definitions with the clients. Develop solutions in Mathcad. Evaluate problems, determine corrective actions, set plans, execute plans and develop root cause analyses. Review the technical output of team members if necessary. Quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review / critique of others' work. Apply standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures. Provide leadership and contributions to facilitate successful projects. Teleworking available up to 20% of the time. Up to 20% domestic and international travel required.
