Your main responsibilities
Elevator Products Corporation is looking for a Summer 2025 Mechanical Engineer Intern to work under the direction of the Sr. Mechanical Product Engineer to support our product development and process improvement initiatives.
Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components for elevator industry
Help analyze and solve complex product design, application, manufacturing, installation and service problems
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software components
Support prototyping, testing, and documentation activities, including troubleshooting and performance evaluation
Help prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and testing reports
Support competitive analysis activities of product designs and report findings
Assist in Design, modifications, and/or application of components and systems using engineering methods and techniques to meet specified technical objectives on time
Support design for manufacturability activities and comprehend manufacturing limitations
Comprehend architectural and structural building drawings
Review customer submittals (and mark ups) and discuss changes with appropriate cross-functional teams?
Organize, track and keep records of drawing and documents in archive
What you bring
Requirements
Currently Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ProE, CATIA, Inventor)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn new concepts and skills
Preferences
Familiarity with general manufacturing processes and practices
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
