The Manufacturing Engineering organization within the Asheville site is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) to help with FAI development and Continuous Improvement activities on assigned hardware.

This is an AWW2 (Alternate Work Week 2nd Shift) position that is night shift schedule of Friday, Saturday and Sunday (6 pm - 6 am).

What You Will Do:

  • The MQE will work with Cell Leaders, Cell Members, Quality and Engineering staff to assure manufacturing compliance respective to the use of all existing manufacturing/process equipment, respective gages and fixtures.
  • Assists in the development and construction of manufacturing cells. Reviews tooling requirements and aides in the tool designs. Orders specially designed cutting tools and other operating supplies needed to support designed manufacturing processes.
  • Creates and maintains standard work. Improve current manufacturing processes in order to reduce costs and increase reliability and control of these operations.
  • Gather all necessary data respective to non-conformances and provide relentless root cause and positive corrective actions.
  • Lead FAI development and new Process Tryout on the Shop Floor. Be the first point of contact on assigned parts and manufacturing processes.
  • Organize and Lead Continuous Improvement activities on assigned hardware. Drive actions to closure. Track Product Quality/Cost and identify improvements where opportunities exist. Provide technical help and support to all Operations personnel as required and on a timely basis.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Broad knowledge of Aerospace Industry and experience in turbine engine parts manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in a team problem-solving environment either as an organizer or participant.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and having the ability to multi-task.
  • Computer knowledge. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to execute and troubleshoot tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of in-house manufacturing and NDT processes.
