In this position, you will be responsible for identifying automation opportunities where humans and robots can work safely side-by-side to enhance productivity, ergonomic safety, and product quality.
What you'll do...
Develop automation solutions utilizing collaborative robots to achieve quality improvements and cost savings.
Develop Statements of Work and evaluate proposals from integrators.
Lead simultaneous engineering efforts with integrators.
Develop safety risk assessments for collaborative robot projects.
Support the creation of collaborative robot application standards, requirements and other documentation.
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce collaborative robot integration costs.
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce development time and installation commissioning time of collaborative robot projects.
Interface with other team members assigned to the component/process (includes controls, productivity, layout, IT, material handling, virtual assembly, layout/facilities, plant teams and suppliers).
Update quality documentation such as Reconciliation Matrix/DCP, SCCAF, Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Assume timing and financial responsibility for respective program content.
Participate in Virtual Engineering activities to improve execution of projects.
Create and maintain process documentation (e.g. process illustrations, tool layouts, cycle charts, etc.).
Lead Machine Acceptance (equipment verification, MIDAS) and issue resolution.
Interface with the Advance Technology Products team to identify new applications of collaborative robots.
Interface with plant personnel such as the launch team, skilled trades and groups responsible for installation, maintenance planning and spares requisitioning.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Self-starting, self-directed with extremely good influential, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage technical aspects of the position.
Knowledge of Engine, Transmission and Axle assembly processes.
Experience implementing automation solutions, particularly collaborative robots.
Experience programming robots, particularly collaborative robots is a plus.
Ability to tackle complex problems and work with cross-functional teams.
Computer skills: MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Teamcenter/VIS
Flexibility in work location, ability to travel, work overtime, weekends and holidays when required.

This position is a salary grade 5 - salary grade 8, and ranges $63,480- $162,120.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
