Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the planning and organization of duties within a given process area that includes, but is not limited to, the development of new or improved manufacturing process specifications and instructions, execution of strategic actions, leading continuous improvement activities by analyzing production data and scrap data, ensuring compliance with productivity and quality metrics, implementing safe and ergonomic work practices, and leading problem solving activities as they relate to various manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

2+ years professional experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role in an industrial setting

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design

Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques

Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations

Well-versed in relevant software (e.g., CAD, MS Office, Mini Tab)

Project management skills

Problem-solving ability

Teamwork skills

Ability to occasionally work late shifts.

Responsibilities:

Evaluating manufacturing processes

Developing effective automated and non-automated systems

Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed.

Product development and implementation into the manufacturing process through the optimization of process techniques.

Lead the startup, commissioning, and release to production phases of various new equipment and processes.

Develop and update standard operational procedures for various manufacturing processes

Design and/or specify tooling requirements to support manufacturing processes

Lead cross functional problem solving teams by utilizing problem solving methodologies and then implementing corrective and preventive actions to address production issues as they arise

Train staff in new and existing processes

Collaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliers.

Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.

Foster a safety mindset by identifying safety and ergonomic risks or hazards and implement engineering solutions
